Got the Skinny on the Lulav

I went lulav and esrog shopping tonight and picked up a set for myself and my father. This year the esrogim were very nice, lots of bright yellows, nice and bumpy, unlike last year's mellow yellows. However, the lulavim were, how shall we say, less than optimal. They were very short and skinny and the selection was not good. Damn those Egyptians.

A Match Made In... We're Not Exactly Sure Where

What would happen if you went out on a shidduch date only to find out you were going out with a bearded man in drag? Find out by watching this mildly amusing Shidduch Music Video. He took "her" out to Dougie's? How typical.

The Ushpizin Are Coming

Ushpizin, billed as the first movie made by and starring Orthodox Jews, will be making its North American debut on October 19th in New York and Los Angeles and in other cities thereafter. There will also be special screenings in the Boro Park and Flatbush neighbourhoods of Brooklyn starting on the 20th. Unfortunately, it will not be screened here in Toronto nor any other Canadian city. They now have a brand new website up and running (yes, it actually includes desktops for download). Click on "Local Release Dates" to find the complete listing of cities where the movie will be showing. Alternatively, it can also be purchased on DVD, assuming you are able to view movies in the PAL (European) standard.
