Synagogue Screening of Ushpizin Almost Violates Intellectual Property Rights

The Chabad Center of Passaic County recently featured a screening of the film Ushpizin using a legitimate DVD purchased in Brooklyn. The only problem? They did not receive permission from the North American distributors of the movie, Picturehouse. Picturehouse then threatened legal action. Fortunately, that matter was settled with a percentage of the ticket sales going to Picturehouse.

Ushpizin in Toronto Update

The is a full page advertisement in a locally distributed magazine called The Jewish Magazine that confirms that Ushpizin will start playing at the Bayview Village Cinemas (at Bayview and Sheppard) starting Friday, December 2nd.

Ushpizin in Toronto

My friend Jeremy informs me that the movie Ushpizin will be coming to Toronto in December, to be shown at the Bayview Village cinemas. More updates will be forthcoming when I find out more information, such as the exact date.
