Out of the Depths

Ancient Rabbi Becomes a Modern Israeli Matchmaker The above headline is a reference to Rabbi Yonasan Ben Uziel, at whose gravesite people pray in hope to find a shiduch, a match. What they didn't mention in the article is what I heard when I was Israel, some ten years ago. Sometimes some young women accidentally (wink, wink) leave their siddurs (prayerbooks) behind which just happen to have their name and phone number in them (nudge, nudge) where they are then found by some young man who is only happy to return it to its owner. Or, so the theory goes.
